I’m not saying it’s only locals doing this but again we are from here and we can normally, easily point out locals. I get kids will be kids but this is way past that! This was a safe/respectful zone for all kids but each time we stay it seems to get worse. We all pay a good bit of money to stay at the resort with expectations of a comfortable atmosphere and accommodations to go along with the price (completely worth the money!) but when our children are being pushed under water, cut in front of, doors slammed in our faces, and simply being treated like garbage.

However, I am not sure when many locals starting picking up on the day pass/late day pass deals but since then the dynamic after 4pm has changed completely (mainly the water park) We always love meeting people that come from everywhere across the country but we have even picked up on some of their vibes regarding this as well. First 3 times we stayed it worked out great for the price/distance. However, I’ve noticed a major shift in comfortability. If you are not, stay far away!Īs a nearby local, Great Wolf Lodge has been a great addition to LaGrange! It is a wonderful 1 or 2 night sometimes more getaway for us young families in the surrounding area. If you are okay with that then book your trip. The bottom line is that the GWL is a $400 a night Holiday Inn with horrible service and a so-so water park attached to it. The water park was fun for the kids, but then again you give then waterhose in the back yard and they are equally happy. The hotel accommodation are not bad, but this is certainly NOT a JW Marriott. We had dinner at the "nice" restaurant, where it took 1 & 1/2 hrs. If you are planning on getting ice cream, coffee, candy, or anything at one of the lobby stores, be prepared to wait an equally long time. For instance if you expect to get a drink at the pool bar, you better be prepared to wait in line for at least 45 minutes.

That is something this place is utterly lacking. We expect to pay a premium when we go to resorts, but we also expect to something in return for that premium. To be clear, my issue with this place has nothing to do with its super inflated prices.
